Project:
We designed an immersive city quest rooted in local history and urban legends of Lachine. The game combined exploration, storytelling and seasonal Halloween atmosphere, turning the neighbourhood itself into the main game space.

The story:

Montréal’s Lachine Canal has always been more than water and stone. It was the city’s beating industrial heart, lined with factories, mills, and warehouses that once powered the entire region. But with every revolution of the gears, something else was stirring below the surface.

Legends whispered of a creature born from waste and smoke, a monster that fed on coal dust, sugar syrup, and the shadows of industry. For decades, people dismissed it as superstition—stories told by tired canal workers and immigrants at the end of a long shift. Until now.

This Halloween, the prophecy awakens. Strange symbols appear on the canal walls. Shadows lengthen across Griffintown. And a voice—half-human, half-machine—echoes from the water, demanding to be heard.

Only a team of hunters can uncover the truth. To calm the beast or banish it, you must retrace Montréal’s industrial past, summon the spirits of the factories, and solve the riddles left in steel, stone, and smoke.

History is the key. The canal remembers. The question is: will you?

Results:
A location-based experience that strengthened the brand’s connection to the city and attracted new audiences during the Halloween season.

Over the Halloween weekend, 541 players took part in The Griffintown Prophecy, exploring the streets and mysteries of Old Griffintown and the Lachine Canal.
